Most brides don’t think about preservation until weeks after the wedding. That is when the dress has been sitting in a bag in the corner of the bedroom. By then, invisible stains from champagne, sweat, and body oils have already begun to set. Fabric has started to shift. And the longer it waits, the harder it becomes to restore.
At Laura Couture, our wedding dress cleaning and preservation service is designed to protect your gown from that moment forward. We remove what the day left behind. More so, we treat the fabric so it keeps, stays as near to its original condition as possible for years to come. Whether you keep it as a personal heirloom or pass it on, or simply want to know it is safe. We handle it with the same sort of careful attention we put into every gown we touch.

Specialist cleaning that addresses the full range of post-wedding marks — ground-in hem dirt, food and drink stains, perspiration, makeup, and any marks from the day you may not even have noticed yet. Every fabric type is assessed individually before any cleaning begins

After it’s cleaned, the gown is kind of carefully prepped for long-term keeping. It’s folded with acid-free tissue, so there’s less stress on the seams and any embellishments, then packed inside archival materials that help guard against yellowing, moisture, and fabric deterioration later on over time.
The most common mistake brides make is waiting months before bringing the gown in. Stains that are invisible on the day can oxidise and turn yellow within weeks — and become significantly harder, sometimes impossible, to remove. We recommend bringing your gown to us within two to four weeks of the wedding.
We inspect every gown before cleaning, kind of like a quick once over but slower, assessing the fabric, the embellishments, and any visible or suspected staining, just to be sure. You’ll know exactly what we’ve found and what we plan to do about it before any work begins. After cleaning, the gown is then preserved and sent back to you, ready for long-term keeping , plus a clear note on how to store it right at home.
Based in Houston, Texas, Laura Couture welcomes brides from across states. This service is available to any bride — whether or not your gown was altered or pressed with us.
